Dr. Frank Rasche

Soil Health Scaling Expert

Dr. Frank Rasche is a soil health scaling expert supporting IITA in developing a comprehensive roadmap to expand soil health initiatives. He brings over 20 years of interdisciplinary research experience as an agroecologist specializing in soil ecology, with expertise in microbiomes, metabolomes, and plant-soil interactions.

His work focuses on integrated soil fertility management, soil carbon sequestration, biological pest and disease control, heavy metal remediation, and erosion mitigation, with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. He also serves as an associate professor of soil ecology at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and holds a PhD in agricultural sciences from BOKU, Vienna.
