International Training on Mastering Technology Transfer

ICRISAT will host an international training programme on Mastering Technology Transfer: A Global Pathway for Developing Countries from 27 July to 8 August 2026 in Hyderabad, India. The two-week programme is being organized by the ICRISAT Center of Excellence for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture under the Government of India’s Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme. CGIAR Capacity Sharing will contribute expertise through a CapSha resource person.The fully sponsored course will bring together 35 non-Indian international participants. It is intended for policymakers, government officials, researchers and professionals working in innovation, entrepreneurship, intellectual-property management and technology transfer. Participants will examine the technology-transfer process, from identifying promising innovations and assessing technology readiness to protecting intellectual property, conducting market research and selecting appropriate commercialization pathways.The course will also cover licensing, partnerships, spin-offs, funding opportunities and legal agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, material-transfer agreements and licensing contracts. Participants will conclude the programme by developing a practical technology-transfer plan suited to their institutional or national context.CapSha’s contribution will bring capacity-sharing expertise into a programme designed to help institutions move promising technologies from research toward practical application, partnership and commercialization.
